ATLANTA - August 07, 2013 - Georgia Tech Professional Education hosted the first stand-alone commencement ceremony for 2013 graduates of the Professional Master’s in Applied Systems Engineering (PMASE) degree program. The PMASE commencement ceremony took place on Friday, August 2, 2013 at the Wardlaw Building on the Georgia Tech campus. The guest of honor was Gary May, dean of Georgia Tech’s College of Engineering. This year marked the third graduating PMASE cohort.

“We were thrilled to have such a large class of graduates this year,” said Dr. Carlee Bishop, executive director of the PMASE degree program. “Having our own commencement ceremony was the perfect way to give our graduates a special moment to celebrate their achievements. This event also served to illustrate the incredible growth and success of the PMASE program over three short years.”

PMASE is a two-year professional master’s degree program offered by Georgia Tech in collaboration with the Institute’s College of Engineering, Georgia Tech Professional Education, and the Georgia Tech Research Institute.  Developed for experienced professionals interested in expanding their systems engineering education, the program provides flexibility for working adults through online and face-to-face instruction.

The PMASE program helps students develop the skills and knowledge necessary to successfully compete in the global market. Students gain real-world experience by collaborating in a team environment. They will learn how to think strategically to determine project plans and identify areas of risks. Through a practical, hands-on approach, students learn how to successfully integrate systems engineering processes to gain a competitive advantage in any industry.
