Superior Energy Performance (SEP) Lead Auditor

Course Description

This course will prepare you to become a Superior Energy Performance (SEP) Lead Auditor.  You will compare ISO 17021 with MSE 50028 and identify the additional SEP requirements that exist within MSE 50028.  In addition, you will gain an in-depth knowledge of the SEP Certification Protocol and understand the process for how an organization can become certified.  This 6-hour, self-paced course will be delivered online through a series of videos and real-world activities involving a case study.  The knowledge checks will measure your grasp of the material, and will serve as proof of successful completion. Students will have 3 weeks to complete this course.

  • Confirm energy performance actions and trends.
  • Explain the consequences if SEP recertification requirements are not met.
  • Differentiate ISO 50001 conformance with the energy performance requirements of SEP, and demonstrate the key components that need to be considered in constructing a valid baseline for the SEnPI.

The SEP Lead Auditor exam is administered by the Institute for Energy Management Professionals (IEnMP). Registration, scheduling and payment for that exam must be handled through IEnMP directly. In order to take the SEP LA exam, you must register with IEnMP at least two weeks prior to the date you wish to take the exam.
