K-12 Programs

Professional Education offers a range of programs to support K-12 learning and teaching.

In science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) subjects, we provide a number of programs to help prepare students for college as well as create awareness of potential careers and job opportunities, and we often partner with the Center for Education Integrating Science, Math and Computing (CEISMC).

From educational partnerships and research to fun programs for students, CEISMC and Professional Education advocates and participates in efforts for systemic changes that lead to improved appreciation and performance in STEM for K-12 students.

Georgia Tech offers advanced mathematics students, in high schools across Georgia, the opportunity to take online classes while still in high school. The highly competitive and in-demand program, which had 592 applicants for 460 slots for the fall of 2015, allows advanced high school students to complete one or two online Georgia Tech advanced mathematics courses and earn academic credits while still in school.

In addition, we provide teacher training to offer K-12 teachers the opportunity to master new approaches to teaching and learning. The project-based inquiry learning (PBIL) online course is instructor facilitated and equips forward-thinking educators with knowledge and skills to transform their classroom practices and foster deep, enduring learning experiences.
