If you have a passion for learning, you’re not alone. According to a study by the Pew Research Center, most adults see themselves as lifelong learners. Whether for personal or professional reasons, 73 percent of those surveyed consider learning to be a lifelong pursuit. Of the working adults surveyed, 63 percent indicated that they had taken some form of professional development in the previous year.

GTPE Dean Calls for Professional Education to Shape the Future of Higher Education

Nelson C. Baker, dean, Georgia Tech Professional Education delivered a keynote address at the University Professional and Continuing Education Association (UPCEA) 2015 South Region Conference in Savannah, Georgia, on October 14, 2015. Entitled “Navigating Uncharted Waters: What Does it Take to Stay on Course?” the presentation addressed the need for professional and continuing education units to play more prominent roles in universities and take the lead in shaping the future of higher education.

GTPE’s Champion of Veterans Appointed to State Workforce Development Board

Renowned for his dedication to helping veterans succeed in the civilian workforce, James Wilburn, director of military academic programs for Georgia Tech Professional Education, was appointed to the State Workforce Development Board by Governor Nathan Deal. The swearing in ceremony took place on July 27, 2015.
