The Georgia Manufacturing Extension Partnership (GaMEP) at Georgia Tech has nine regional offices across the state, including one at Georgia Tech-Savannah. The GaMEP, a member of the National MEP network supported by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has been serving Georgia manufacturers since 1960. By offering a solution-based approach through coaching and education, the GaMEP helps manufacturing companies increase top-line growth and reduce bottom-line cost. Last year the GaMEP worked with 975 Georgia manufacturers, helping them increase sales by $217 million, reduce operating costs by $28 million and create or retain 1,557 jobs.
With a broad range of experience in technical assistance, project management, coaching, training, and implementation, the GaMEP is a state and federally funded initiative, making it a cost effective alternative to traditional consulting. Specializing in areas such as lean and process improvement, quality management, energy management, sustainability, ISO standards, and innovation strategies in business growth (innovation management, new customer development, new market expansion, and product development), GaMEP's mission is to help manufacturing companies across Georgia grow and stay competitive. As part of a customized approach, the GaMEP can connect clients to the vast resources of Georgia Tech and the state to ensure manufacturers meet their goals. The GaMEP is a resource and partner for its clients.
GaMEP is part of the Enterprise Innovation Institute (EI2) at Georgia Tech, which helps Georgia enterprises improve their effectiveness and positively impact the economy.
