Holly Grell-Lawe is a Principal Research Associate and Project Manager with Energy & Sustainability Services at Georgia Tech’s Enterprise Innovation Institute, where she specializes in environmental, energy and sustainability management systems for industry and government. Lawe develops and provides training, technical assistance, implementation programs and system assessments to help organizations incorporate environmental and energy management and sustainability-based decision-making into their business processes.
Over the past 20 years Lawe has worked with scores of organizations to implement and attain third-party certification of their environmental, energy, and quality management systems based on the International Standards ISO 14001, ISO 50001and ISO 9001. Experienced with the design and development of pilot and demonstration programs, Lawe has served as a Project Director, Principal Investigator and Task Director on a variety of federal- and state-funded environmental, energy and technology transfer projects.
Lawe is active in standards development, serving as the Standards Coordinator for GTESS, Georgia Tech’s ANSI-accredited standards development organization in the area of energy management. As a U.S. delegate to ISO Technical Committee (TC) 242 on Energy Management, she participated in the development of ISO 50001 and ISO 50004.
Lawe holds a Masters in Information Management from Emory University and a B.S. in Communications from Northwestern University. She is an Exemplar Global (formerly RABQSA)-certified Lead Auditor for both ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 Management Systems and a founding member of the International Society of Sustainability Professionals (ISSP).
