Fault and Disturbance Analysis Conference

2026 Event Details

The Transient Recorder Users Council and Georgia Tech are pleased to issue a Call for Papers for the 2026 Fault and Disturbance Analysis Conference. 

Papers should be of a non-commercial, technical nature on topics related to transient recorders, fault and disturbance analysis in electrical power transmission, generation and distribution systems. 

Papers in the following topics are of interest:

  • Developments in Hardware and Software Technology for Transient Recording
  • Novel Applications of Transient Recordings
  • PMU Applications
  • Experiences with Web-based Technology for IED Transient Recordings
  • Analysis of Disturbance Events of a Unique, Unusual, or Educational Nature
  • Changes to Application Criteria as a Result of the Industry Restructuring
  • Reliability and Predictive Maintenance
  • Power Quality

The abstract submission site will open on June 1, 2025 and close on September 30, 2025 at midnight. Please check back for additional details and the submission link on June 1, 2025.

Abstract Information

Prospective authors should follow these abstract submission guidelines: 

The recommended length is about half a page and should not exceed one page. To submit an abstract, authors should register on the conference web site (available starting June 1, 2025). If submitting multiple abstracts, authors should register separately for each abstract. 

For each submission, the following information will be required:

  • For each author: name, organization, country, and email
  • Contact author email and telephone number
  • Keywords
  • Abstract text (typed or pasted into provided box)
  • Password (of your choice) 

Once the submission entry is completed, you will be provided with a submission number. Please save the submission number and password since this information will be needed later in order to upload your paper, bio, and presentation material, once the paper has been accepted.

Fault and Disturbance Analysis Conference Location

The in-person portions of the conference will be held at Georgia Tech's Global Learning Center in Midtown Atlanta. It is located in the heart of Tech Square - Atlanta's thriving innovation community. Easily accessible from Interstates 75/85 and just 15 miles from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. Attached to the Center is The Tech Square parking deck that offers convenient hourly and daily rates.
