Georgia Tech Supply Chain & Logistics Instructor Wins Prestigious Industry Award

ATLANTA - September 01, 2015 - Robert Martichenko, instructor of the lean supply chain professional certificate course series at Georgia Tech Professional Education (GTPE), and chief executive officer of LeanCor Supply Chain Group, has won the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals’ (CSCMP) 2015 Distinguished Service Award.

The award is the industry’s most prestigious honor presented to an individual each year for significant achievements in the logistics and supply chain management professions.

“Robert Martichenko is the personification of CSCMP’s Distinguished Service Award,” said Rick Blasgen, CSCMP’s president and chief executive officer. “He is a champion of innovation and creativity, and cares deeply about the people in our profession. He has a unique ability to share his knowledge in ways that positively impact our community.”

Beginning his career in transportation and warehousing supporting Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indiana, Martichenko has more than 20 years’ experience implementing lean and operational excellence with a focus on end-to-end supply chain management. He leads LeanCor Supply Chain Group, which he founded in 2005 to support customers in building and sustaining supply chain performance. 

Martichenko is a member of the team of instructors of the lean supply chain professional certificate courses offered by the Georgia Tech Supply Chain & Logistics Institute (SCL) in partnership with Georgia Tech Professional Education (GTPE). The professional certificate courses meet the needs of supply chain and logistics professionals and managers, across the entire supply chain, who are interested in expanding their knowledge base and are committed to professional advancement.

Completion of the three-course series leads to a lean supply chain professional certificate. Each course counts as 2.1 continuing education units (CEUs). The three courses include the following:

  • Building the Lean Supply Chain Problem Solver
  • Building the Lean Supply Chain Professional
  • Building the Lean Supply Chain Leader
