Resources that Help Georgia VetsNov 17, 2017 | By Kelsey Harris
Turning in your weapon, taking off the uniform, and returning to civilian life is one of the most significant challenges a veteran faces after years of service. An article published in The Atlanta Journal-Constitution highlights 24 state-wide agencies and resources for Georgia veterans, and among those is Georgia Tech's Veterans Education Training.
In collaboration with the Georgia Department of Economic Development (GDEcD) and military transition expert Lt. Col. John W. Phillips, Georgia Tech Professional Education (GTPE) offers an online entry-level course, "VET² 101," for veterans transitioning from the military to corporate life. Based on "Boots to Loafers, Finding Your True North," by Phillips, the short online course teaches veterans how to create a strong resume and introduces them to the best practices of the "new millennium" job search.
