Hybrid Learning: Face-to-Face and Online
The unique, hybrid format of our Systems Engineering Master's program offers both face-to-face instruction and online learning. This flexibility allows working students to fit a master's degree into their busy schedules so there is no need to interrupt their careers.
During the two-year program students are required to come together with their cohort on Georgia Tech's Atlanta campus three times, each for a 4-day visit. Campus visits allow students to form strong relationships with both peers and program faculty, yet time away from the office is minimal so students can keep up with their professional responsibilities.
Students experience face-to-face interaction well beyond the three Atlanta visits. Professional Master's in Applied Systems Engineering (PMASE) utilizes the latest distance learning technology to enable the student to continually interact with program faculty and peers at a distance. In addition to real time, two-way instructional sessions that occur approximately every three weeks, course materials and assignments are accessible to students 24 hours a day, 7 days a week via the internet.
Professional Master's in Applied Systems Engineering Cohort Program
Each student belongs to a close-knit group of peers, called a cohort, to work on projects and assignments. We believe that a team environment is the best way for students to grow leadership and communication skills.
During the two-year systems engineering program students take five courses per year, a total of ten courses. They focus on one course at a time during a seven-week time period, preventing them from becoming strained with both a full-time career and full schedule of different classes.
