A.P." Sakis" Meliopoulos, PhD, Georgia Power Distinguished Professor of electrical and computer engineering at Georgia Tech. Dr. Meliopoulos helped the development of the power program at Georgia Tech by contributing to the modernization of existing courses, introducing new courses, initiating research activities and developing continuing education programs. He is principal inventor of the Smart Ground Multimeter, the Fault Distance Indicator, and the Open Conductor Detector. Additionally, he is a well-known author, holds three patents and has published more than 220 technical papers.
