Georgia Tech Savannah, with Gulf Engineering Corporation (GEC), is holding this year's Teacher Institute. Teachers will learn about the SHEP (Sav Harbor Expansion Project) and the CSS Georgia, a confederate battle ship brought up from the Savannah River floor after being scuttled more than 150 years ago. Participants will create unique STEM and STEAM learning units to use this fall with their classes. Teachers will also earn a $400 stipend and artifacts for their TKES portfolio for continuing education.
Three days on campus and a day at the harbor, on the water and at Ft. Jackson learning about SHEP and CSS Georgia first hand.
