Biography

Iuliia Chepurko possesses a strong blend of professional and academic experience. On the corporate side, she has worked in corporate finance, project management, and organizational change across sectors including healthcare, telecommunications, nonprofit, oil and gas, consulting, and economic development. She currently serves as Director of Program and Project Standards at General Communication Inc. (GCI), Alaska’s largest telecommunications company, where she leads the alignment of project management processes across a 2,000-employee organization.

Iuliia holds a Ph.D. in economics, an MBA, and a master’s in international business. She previously taught corporate finance at the University of Alaska Anchorage, where she was recognized with the Adjunct Teacher of the Year award. She also taught macroeconomics at Saint Petersburg State Economics University. In 2025, she received the UAA Alumni Emerging Leader Award for her outstanding leadership and commitment to advancing project management through education, mentorship, and community engagement. 

She holds PMP®, RMP®, CBAP®, ITIL®, and SAFe Scrum Master certifications. Her teaching emphasizes interactive learning and real-world application to prepare students for today’s evolving project environments.
