International Space Governance

Course Description

Examine different approaches to space governance that are designed to enable coordination and development in space, an inherently global domain accessed by many states and commercial actors. Through a blend of lectures, assignments, and a final project, learners will will identify the international institutions and agreements employed in coordinating electromagnetic spectrum usage and analyze international efforts to ensure long-term space domain sustainability. Expert research faculty will also help participants assess current frameworks and propose new ones for addressing ongoing challenges like space congestion, threats against space assets, and the development of space resources.
