James Wilburn, Ed.D, PMP, ACP

Biography
With more than 22 years of decorated military experience, Wilburn retired from the United States Army at the rank of lieutenant colonel. Prior to joining Georgia Tech, Wilburn was the program director and professor of Military Science at Vanderbilt University. He has also served as a course director, operations officer, and instructor at the United States Military Academy (West Point). Wilburn is the director for Military Academic Programs for Georgia Tech Professional Education. In this role, he serves as the Institute’s liaison for military personnel, and he works to develop and identify programs beneficial to the career advancement of military members, veterans, and their family members. Most recently, Wilburn has developed Georgia Tech’s Veterans Education Training and Transition (VET2) program, which focuses on assisting service members’ transitions from the military to the civilian workforce. Wilburn holds an Ed.D., PMP, ACP, and LSSBB.
