VET² Internship

Develop the skills necessary to successfully secure a post-service job while earning your Georgia Tech Veterans, Education, Training and Transition (VET²) Certificate. With the 2013 Department of Defense authorization (1322.29) allowing active duty service members to participate in internships, service members are now able to gain valuable experience with a potential employer through the Georgia Tech Veterans Education Training and Transition (VET²) program before their separation date from the military. The Georgia Tech Veterans Education Training and Transition (VET²) Program was developed to assist service members and veterans with the successful transition to the civilian workplace. The VET² certificate program may be conducted as a single four-week program or divided into two separate courses: VET² Plan of Action Development (3-days) and VET² Internship (3-weeks).

The VET² Internship course incorporates online professional education with the experiential learning of a three-week internship with a corporate sponsor. While participating in the full-time internship, students execute their “plan of action” created during the VET² – Plan of Action Development course (PD1002P). Students also receive online instruction in successful presentation skills and how to effectively integrate into a new organization. The program culminates with a corporate sponsor presentation in which students participate as a member of a moderated panel.
