Develop the skills necessary to successfully secure a post-service job while earning your Georgia Tech Veterans, Education, Training and Transition (VET2) Certificate. With the 2013 Department of Defense authorization (1322.29) allowing active duty service members to participate in internships, service members are now able to gain valuable experience with a potential employer through the Georgia Tech Veterans Education Training and Transition (VET2) program before their separation date from the military. The Georgia Tech Veterans Education Training and Transition (VET2) Program was developed to assist service members and veterans with the successful transition to the civilian workplace. The VET2 certificate program may be conducted as a single four-week program or divided into two separate courses: VET2 Plan of Action Development (3-days) and VET2 Internship (3-weeks).
The VET2 Internship course incorporates online professional education with the experiential learning of a three-week internship with a corporate sponsor. While participating in the full-time internship, students execute their “plan of action” created during the VET2 – Plan of Action Development course (PD1002P). Students also receive online instruction in successful presentation skills and how to effectively integrate into a new organization. The program culminates with a corporate sponsor presentation in which students participate as a member of a moderated panel.
