Hyperconnected Supply Chain Systems

Course Description

Learn how the Physical Internet (PI) transforms end-to-end supply chains through hyperconnected transportation, deployment, manufacturing, supply, and service. During this hybrid course, learners explore the ways in which PI enables dynamic, multi-party networks of open-access factories and facilities, boosting agility, adaptability, efficiency, and resilience while reducing environmental impact. Participants also discover how PI reimagines supply chains across industries for a more sustainable future by supporting circular, digital, green, inclusive, and sharing economies.

Course Content

1. Hyperconnected, End-to-End Supply Chain Design

  • Reimagine supply chains as dynamic, modular networks.
  • Integrate open-access manufacturing, supply, deployment, and transport systems into a unified design.

2. Multi-Party Realization Networks Engineering

  • Understand how PI enables distributed manufacturing, personalization, and recycling.
  • Plan flexible and adaptive webs of production and supply that respond in real time.

3. Building Supply Chains for the Circular and Digital Economy

  • Apply Physical Internet principles to support sustainability, inclusion, and resource efficiency.
  • Recognize the role of PI in enabling closed-loop flows and regenerative systems.

4. Enhancing Strategic Supply Chain Capabilities

  • Improve agility, cybersecurity, resilience, and responsiveness through open collaboration.
  • Evaluate and plan system-level transformation across industries or global ecosystems.
